Get a coach, make a commitment to show up even if it’s for 10 min

Client Spotlight: Brenda (Nevada)

This month I'm showcasing another dedicated rockstar client. Brenda has faithfully participated via Zoom since June 2023. She always works hard, has a positive outlook and strives to do her best, even when she's accommodating injuries or aches and pains. Read on the learn how she keeps fitness a priority....

What does a typical workout week look like for you?

I typically do 5 sessions with Erica between private training and class. In addition I like hiking, walking going to the lake. We love to explore!

How do you fit it all in?

I am able to fit it all in because it’s priority and I work my life around making sure I am getting my workouts in…Erica offers early morning options so that helps immensely!

How has your workout routine changed over time (particularly through peri-menopause

and/or menopause)?

Yes workouts have definitely changed. I have always been active. I have always liked strength training. However I went through many different phases (hot yoga, aerobics) but I came back to strength training when I hit menopause. It’s been great and helps me stay strong and healthy! Excellent for strong bones.

What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve had to overcome?

The biggest obstacles is working out through injuries or surgeries and finding my way through it. Its great to have the support of a great coach like Erica to help me get back to a place where I feel strong and capable . Then there is the head trying to talk me out of working out ,LOL, but it's so helpful knowing I have a coach to walk me through it, all I need to do is show up!

How do you manage to eat healthy?

Eating healthy has been a big priority of mine. I love nutrition and I love to know how food helps my body! I do love a treat now and then. However I search out delicious things that are made with clean ingredients. It’s a passion of mine! It’s balance.

Who is your biggest supporter?

My family is great support especially my husband and daughters.

#1 tip for someone struggling to find a way just getting started?

My tip is get a coach, make a commitment to show up even if it’s for 10 min.
